Located along the Wild Atlantic Way, in the beautiful district of Connemara, Ballynahinch Castle is one of the best luxury hotels for a two-night retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

Ballynahinch Castle Hotel is set in private 700-acre property with gorgeous walks and outdoor activities on the estate itself.

The castle hotel was voted the 3rd best hotel in Ireland in the Conde Nast Traveller awards and the 6th best in UK and Ireland by Travel and Leisure.

Guests are sure to experience a true royal feeling with stunning views, right from the moment they enter the estate.

Whether it is the comfort of the hotel’s luxury rooms, or the breath-taking views from the riverside bedrooms, Ballynahinch Castle has made sure that their guests have a memorable time when they visit Connemara.

The hotel redecorates their rooms frequently to minimise the wear and tear at the property and to provide the best-in-class accommodation to its guests.

Each of their 48 guest rooms and suites are individually decorated to a very high standard with soft furnishings to compliment the surroundings.

The majority of the Classic rooms are located in the original house with three in the newer wing overlooking the grounds.

The Classic rooms have views of the grounds, courtyard or mountains.

The remaining Superior, Luxury rooms and Riverside Suites are located in a newer wing, overlooking the river with magnificent views of the river & woodlands.

Whichever room guests choose they will find sleep comes easily in this luxurious accommodation in the heart of Connemara.

While some might know, Ballynahinch Castle used to be a home to the Indian Cricketing Legend Prince Ranjisinhji, the Maharaja of Nawanagar in the 1920s.

He used to catch a train from the edge of the castle to play a match in Dublin and back. While the railway line is long gone, the hotel has repurposed it as a scenic walking trail.

Rajisinhji built 72-stone piers around the lake at Ballynahinch Castle as per his significant interests in fishing which can still be seen on the estate.

The hotel has a room especially decorated in the memory of the former owner of the property called “Ranji Room”.
